twenty+3 projects to pleased to present This Is the Place It Is, an exhibition of a pair of newly commissioned site specific works from Canadian artists Corinne Carlson and Karen Henderson.

In This Is the Place It Is, Carlson and Henderson make work specifically for a gallery that is also a residential house. These works located both inside and outside, play with the ephemeral and intangible as well as the concrete and measurable. They explore thresholds, value, time and space.

In This Is the Place It Is Carlson takes up outside where she will cover ‘the stoop’ of this traditional terraced house with gold leaf.  While inside, Henderson will document the changes in light in the gallery itself over time, and then create a single composite image from this which will collapse both space and time.

Both Carlson and Henderson are established Toronto artists and their work has been shown across North America as well as in the UK, Europe.

The exhibition is open 11-3pm Saturdays or by appointment.

Please note, for this exhibition, due to the nature of Karen Henderson’s work which needs to be seen in daylight, This Is the Place It Is will have its opening at a different time than usual. Corinne Carlson’s work can be viewed around the clock.
